Scriptures, Investigators, Food & Sleep

From an e-mail on Oct. 17, 2011:

"Next week is our Primary Program as well.  Priesthood had to meet in the Primary room yesterday so they could use the chapel to practice.  I can tell that I'm a missionary:  we got out early, so Elder Hall and I were sitting in the foyer waiting to get our dinner calendar.  We could hear them over the speakers.  And whenever they said a scripture reference, I knew what almost all of them were about."

Oct. 24, 2011:

"We actually don't tract all that much lately.  It's completely fruitless in this area, and not exactly an activity to look forward to.  We walk around a lot more often now, and talk to people we cross paths with.  And we have eight investigators and 4 or 5 less actives we're working with right now, so we aren't quite as desperate for things to do as we were when I first arrived, although this is still a really slow area."

Weirdest food eaten:
"The weirdest thing I ate was a salad consisting of lettuce, orange jell-o, cottage cheese and paprika.  I only ate it so I wouldn't hurt Brother Nickell's feelings, since he's an awesome old man (86 years old) and I love spending time with him."
(there will be pictures of him in later posts)

Letter to Dad, Oct. 31, 2011:

"I've been praying the last few weeks for Heavenly Father to help me with my sleeping problems.  I'm still having trouble getting to sleep, and I'm not willing to use Tylenol PM or anything like that because I don't want to have to depend on medicine to get to sleep.  But since I started asking for help, I've been hearing my alarm.  (He could sleep through almost anything!!)  Before I started praying for help, I didn't even hear the alarms.  So it's definitely a step in the right direction.
